Booktrope, a two-year-old startup that’s attempting to transform the way authors publish books, won first place at the fourth Seattle Angel Conference on Wednesday night.
The company, also a finalist at our GeekWire Startup Day pitch session, took home a $205,000 angel investment award from the Seattle Angel Conference IV LLC.
Booktrope founder and CMO Katherine Sears tells us that her startup is also close to wrapping up an angel round from Seattle and Bay Area investors. Sears was featured in our “Elevator Pitch” episode one year ago.
LaserMotive, a Seattle startup delivering electricity via light to critical assets, won a secondary deal of $55,000 from the angel investors. The Seattle Angel Conference, which also trains new angel investors, has now invested $625,000 to winning companies over the past two years.
