Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the elves will be riding around in this SUV visiting people in Seattle this week.

First, Uber partnered with Cheezeburger to deliver kittens to your doorstep on National Cat Day in October.

santaondemand1Now, the on-demand transportation service is teaming up with another Seattle company, only this time replacing the kittens with Santa Claus.

Instead of felines appearing at your doorstep, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves will come to your location for 30 minutes so long as you request him through the Uber app.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week, Santa will be riding around in a holiday-themed SUV, taking photos and Christmas gift requests from those around the city. Each visit will cost you $50, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The Pike Place Market Foundation, which supports the Pike Place Food Bank, Senior Center, Preschool and Community Clinic.

doubledownTo request Santa, just open the Uber app and select “Santa on Demand.” If you snag a Santa visit, he’ll bring along a professional photographer, sweet peppermint chocolates from Seattle Chocolates and ten Santa hats.

Santa on-demand is the result of a partnership between Uber and DoubleDown Interactive, a Seattle-based gaming company and subsidiary of gambling giant IGT. The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is also helping out with the week-long campaign.

This is all very similar to Cheezeburger’s idea in October with the kitten delivery service. Uber may have struck a chord here, and it’ll be interesting to see what other ideas come about — dogs, Easter bunnies, etc.
