tesla-chargerOregon is getting in on the Tesla fun.

After opening two new “supercharger” stations last month in Centralia and Burlington, Wash., Tesla today opened up a place for drivers to recharge their battery-powered vehicles in Woodburn, Ore.

Tesla dubs its stations the “fastest charging station on the planet,” allowing drivers to get a half charge in about 20 minutes. That’s about 16 times faster than other charging stations. The company will have 27 stations set up by the end of this summer and plans to have 98 percent of the U.S. population covered by 2015.

The Woodburn station is close to the Woodburn Elmer’s, about 30 minutes south of Portland. Meanwhile, the Burlington station is located 70 miles north of Seattle, and 75 miles south of Vancouver, B.C. The Centralia station is 85 miles south of Seattle, and 90 miles north of Portland.

Tesla made headlines last week after achieving a better-than-perfect safety rating and is already outselling several luxury brands in California.
