When Apple’s executive team took the stage in San Francisco yesterday, Twitter responded to the announcements with nearly 300 thousand tweets, more than 180 thousand of which were posted during the keynote itself.
Social media analytics firm Simply Measured used their platform to figure out just what people were talking about during the keynote, and what brought out the biggest reaction.
According to Simply Measured, iOS 7 was the topic of a whopping 27% of all of the tweets posted with the hashtag #WWDC during the course of the keynote. While the Mac Pro peaked higher, OS X Mavericks took the second place slot with 5% of the total number of tweets.
The geolocation data attached to the #WWDC tweets also shows an interesting pattern.
Seattle comes in fifth place, after San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, but comes in ahead of both San Jose and Portland.
The most re-tweeted #WWDC tweet goes to none other than Senator John McCain, with this gem, which has garnered more than a thousand retweets as of press time:
Thanks to Tim Cook for the automatic iphone app updates! #apple #wwdc

While most of the products announced yesterday have yet to make it to market, one thing is clear: we’ll be talking about them for a while.
