RealNetworks this morning added a new board member, Dawn Lepore, the former CEO of drugstore.com who also serves on the board of AOL.
It’s the latest in a series of changes for the Seattle company, an early pioneer of Internet media that is trying to revive its business with founder Rob Glaser serving as interim CEO.
In a news release, Glaser said Lepore brings “a rare combination of deep operational expertise, keen strategic insights, and a wealth of public company board experience” to the new position on the RealNetworks board.
RealNetworks has gone through a series of cutbacks and reorganizations in recent years, and recently moved to a new headquarters south of downtown Seattle. The company last week released a new product, RealPlayer Cloud, that aims to build on its legacy with new features for easily sharing and syncing videos across devices.
