Just as most of us were winding down from Labor Day Weekend on Monday evening, Microsoft announced one of its biggest acquisitions ever with the company’s decision to gobble up Nokia’s Devices and Services business for nearly $7.2 billion.

    Smart move by Microsoft. People might think this is all about cellular phones, but I’d bet it has a lot to do with cars.

    Microsoft needed to buy Nokia, or risk Windows Phone drowning in a sea of Android and iPhone devices. Problem is, they have a huge hill to climb..and are way behind the competition. Nokia was failing, Microsoft (it’s mobile strategy) is failing..I’d say the odds are way against them succeeding. Good thing they have a huge cash stockpile
