Portland-based Puppet Labs made its second acquisition in three years today, swooping up Geppetto-maker Cloudsmith.
Cloudsmith, a virtual company spread across the globe, already provided tools that made it easier for developers to use Puppet Labs’ software. Now with the acquisition, all seven Cloudsmith employees will work for Puppet Labs. The companies did not disclose financial terms.
Puppet Labs is one of Portland’s hottest startups, having acquired open source framework Marionette Collective back in 2010. The 110-person company, which helps system administrators efficiently manage data centers and computing networks through automation, is up to $46 million in total funding after a $30 million investment earlier this year from VMware.
