Twitter trumps Facebook — at least in employee approval ratings.

That’s just one of the findings from Glassdoor’s sixth annual Employees’ Choice Awards, which ranked the top 50 best tech companies (over 1,000 employees) to work for based on feedback from employees covering aspects like career opportunities, compensation, senior management, work/life balance and culture.

Glassdoor, which compiles salary and workplace data on more than 300,000 companies and just raised $50 million, found that Twitter was the top-rated employer — just one year after not even making the list itself.

As the they describe in the video below, Twitter employees appears to have beneficial feedback, solid core values, good treatment from managers, lots of fun, and of course, great food.

Facebook, which took the top spot last year, fell to the third-best tech company and fifth-best company overall. In terms of top companies overall (not just tech), consulting firm Bain & Company ranked No. 1 for the second-straight year. Twitter (2nd), LinkedIn (3rd), Eastman Chemical (4th) and Facebook rounded out the top 5.

Three Seattle-area companies made the top 50 overall list: Slalom Consulting (No. 15), Costco (No. 16) and Starbucks (No. 39). Neither Microsoft or Amazon made the top 50.

Glassdoor also ranked the top 50 best medium-sized companies, or those with 250-999 employees. Seattle online real estate company Zillow finished No. 26.

Here are the rest of the top 50 tech companies:
