bezosAmazon and Microsoft news dominated the pages of GeekWire during the month of July. In fact, every single one of the top stories for the month was tied in some way to one of the companies.

It almost seems as if there’s a battle going on right now in Seattle for the top spot in tech, not to mention the fight for smart employees. Microsoft is still the bigger of the two companies, with a market value of $265 billion. But, as we reported, Amazon, valued on Wall Street at $137 billion, is about to surpass Microsoft in employee count.
