U.K. digital agency Essence Digital continues its expansion in the U.S., announcing today that it is buying Seattle mobile advertising startup Point Reach for an undisclosed price.  The acquisition follows the purchase by Essence of San Francisco-based Black Bag Advertising four months ago.

“We are hugely excited about our further expansion on the West Coast and being able to offer best-in-class mobile media and creative capabilities anywhere in the world,” Essence Digital writes in a blog post.

Point Reach’s customers include Disney, Walgreens, Stubhub and eBay, a common client of Essence Digital. Point Reach has worked exclusively in mobile advertising since 2009, and as a result of the acquisition it will assume the Essence Digital name.

“We’re looking forward to lending our expertise to further strengthen Essence’s mobile capability, and by extension, bolster our digital, social, and media capabilities to better serve our clients,” Point Reach said in a statement.

Essence Digital CEO Matt Isaacs added:

“This deal further deepens the mobile expertise we know is vital to our clients’ success – but more than anything it brings together two organisations that set out from different starting points on the same journey: inventing the marketing of tomorrow.”

This marks the second acquisition today in the Seattle online advertising sector, following news earlier this morning that Quantcast had purchased MakeGood Software.
