Microsoft this morning released a remake of the classic game “Hover” for the web. Hover originally debuted on the Windows 95 CD-ROM, and in a fun twist, the new version includes an Easter Egg that unlocks a classic mode simulating the original version of the game in the web browser. (Hint: the original Hover code name was “Bambi.”)
But they didn’t stop there. The classic version includes Facebook and Twitter sharing buttons, providing a working example of how the popular social networks would have been integrated into the classic Microsoft OS.
Double click on the “share_fb.exe” icon, for example, and this is what you’ll see …
That’s pretty awesome. And yes, it actually works, ultimately opening a modern Facebook or Twitter sharing window containing the message entered by the user into the wizard.
