Microsoft debuted a new program today that allows nonprofits and NGO’s of any size to use Office 365 without paying a cent.
Through its Technology for Good program, Microsoft just launched Office 365 for Nonprofits to enable nonprofits across 41 countries to use the web-based version of Office, email, web conferencing, file sharing and more for free. By summer 2014, the program will roll out to 90 countries.

Microsoft changed up its Office product in January by offering the productivity suite as a subscription for home users for the first time — pay a recurring annual fee of $99.99/year rather than a one-time license. The company announced in May that Office 365 Home Premium surpassed 1 million subscribers in about 100 days. At the time, Microsoft said the new Office was the best-selling version of the software in its history.
