Whoa, we thought it was supposed to be a short holiday month with folks taking a bit of a breather in the tech industry.
But that wasn’t the case. We just experienced our biggest traffic month ever on GeekWire, buoyed by a fantastic mix of news stories, guest commentaries and reviews.
Our ranking on the TechMeme leader board — the technology news aggregation service that ranks the top 100 tech news sites — also increased as we jumped into the top 20 with scoops on everything from Zulily’s IPO to Redfin’s $50 million funding round to the rapid rise of Bitcoin to Steve Ballmer’s final address to Microsoft shareholders.
Amid all of the news, we moved GeekWire’s HQ into a new home in Seattle’s burgeoning Fremont neighborhood. Yes, we’re now located in the “Center of the Universe.”
It’s been a great month for us, but we aren’t slowing down. We’re especially looking forward to the GeekWire Gala, taking place at the newly-renovated Museum of History & Industry next Wednesday.
