Seattle city leaders this morning announced that the city will have its annual 4th of July Fireworks show, after all, with help from the region’s tech community.
Microsoft, Amazon and DoubleDown Interactive are among the companies that will help to fund the show for at least the next three years, Mayor Mike McGinn announced at a news conference today, as reported by MyNorthwest.com and others.
Seattle production company One Reel had previously announced that it wouldn’t be staging the show because it couldn’t raise the $500,000 it needed in time to make it happen.
