tap11sony1Nope, that’s not the Surface Pro above — but it sure does look and act like one.

VAIO_Tap_11_UISony today introduced what it calls the world’s thinnest tablet, also known as the Sony Vaio Tap 11. The device is Sony’s newest Windows 8 tablet and features, just like the Surface Pro, an Intel Core-i processor, a digitizer stylus and optional magnetic keyboard cover. The Tap 11, however, also comes with an adjustable stand and NFC support.

The device, which measures 0.39 inches thick, will be available in black and white. Release dates for the U.S. have yet to be announced, but the tablet will ship to Asia and Europe later this year.

Here are some photos of the Tap 11, along with a video here.
