9Mile Labs, the new accelerator that focuses on hatching new B2B startups, today announced its first cohort of startups that will begin the program on April 8th.
Like other accelerators, 9Mile Labs invests $20,000, taking a four to eight percent stake in the companies. More than 100 companies applied for the inaugural class, including some from as far away as New York, Australia and Argentina.
9Mile Labs is based in SURF Incubator in downtown Seattle — so that means it is an incubator inside an incubator. The firm is led by former Microsoft Vice President Tom Casey and veteran venture capitalist Enrique Godreau, as well as Sanjay Puri, Kevin Croy and Sandy Sharma.
Here’s a look at the nine startups, three of which are led by women entrepreneurs and one of which is from Portland.
