madden25smallLooks like EA Sports’ decision to partner with DirectTV for the newest version of Madden NFL was a good one.

Amazon announced today that Madden 25 Anniversary Edition, which comes with access to DirectTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket, is now the No.1 selling pre-order sports video game of all time on its site.

Sunday Ticket, which allows fans to watch every out-of-market game for the entire NFL season, will normally run you $224.95. But with a purchase of Madden 25 Anniversary Edition, you’ll only need to shell out an extra $40 — the regular edition of Madden 25 sells for $59.99 — to start watching all the NFL games you could ever want.

You don’t need to be a DirectTV subscriber to get the deal, either, as Sunday Ticket enables viewing on computer, tablet and mobile devices. However, if you buy Madden and want to sign up for DirectTV, the cable company is offering $10 per month off your first year of service along with one year of Sunday Ticket.

Amazon did not give specific sales numbers, but did add that it would take more than two football teams to bench press every Anniversary Edition of Madden NFL 25 pre-ordered so far. Also, the Seattle retail giant ranked cities by number of Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition purchases — New York finished first, while Seattle came in third.

For gamers who plan buying the Xbox One this November but just can’t wait to play Madden, Amazon is offering a deal to upgrade your game for just $10.

Madden NFL 25 launches Tuesday.
