Hey, maybe it’s time for a quick trip to Hawaii!
Microsoft is opening up its first retail store in the Hawaiian Islands this week, at the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, and continuing its tradition of leveraging music stars to generate buzz with free concerts. Appearing this time: Seattle’s own Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
Wouldn’t it be more appropriate for them to play the opening of a new thrift shop?
At any rate, if you want to go, you’ll need to get on a plane soon. The show is Thursday, and the free tickets will be handed out tomorrow to people who stand in line.

The store in Hawaii is part of a broader national rollout for the Microsoft Stores. And yes, of course, it’s in the same part of the mall as the Apple Store.
This is not the first Macklemore-Microsoft connection. The song, “Can’t Hold Us,” is also the soundtrack for Microsoft’s Outlook.com campaign.
