liquortroll2When the state of Washington moved to privatize liquor sales in 2012, consumers suddenly had a bevy of retailers to purchase liquor from.

liquortroll2Now, three friends from Seattle have created a website that helps shoppers find the best deals on spirits, depending on location and brand.

Etan Basseri, Rick Negrin and Joshua Willner are the folks behind LiquorTroll, which lets you search for drinks and see which retailers are both close to your location and selling it at the cheapest price.

“As we were analyzing the price data, we realized that prices for a given product could vary by a margin upwards of 20 percent,” Willner said in a press release. “We knew that price-savvy consumers would want access to that type of information quickly and easily, and that’s what we’ve built. Oh, and Costco isn’t always the cheapest.”

The company plans on expanding the selection of brands and retail locations, in addition to building out apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Negrin is a 10-year Microsoft vet, Basseri works at Revel Consulting, and Willner is an SEO Specialist at ADP Dealer Services.
