We get Glenn’s take on the new iPhones announced by Apple this week — including the significance of the iPhone 5C, and some potential hints about Apple’s future direction based on the technology in iPhone 5S.

We also talk about Glenn’s experience as the (relatively) new owner of the Magazine, the bi-weekly publication originally started by Marco Arment (the creator of Instapaper who is also known for his early role at Tumblr). The Magazine is simultaneously a throwback and a step forward, with characteristics of a traditional periodical, but on a modern platform.

Also check out Glenn’s weekly podcast: The New Disruptors.

That conversation begins around the 8:30 mark in the audio player above, following our opening news roundup. Topics this week include Brian McAndrews’ new role as Pandora CEO, a massive new tech-oriented real estate project in Bellevue, and a quick recap of the GeekWire Summit.

App of the Week: EventWith, as recommended by GeekWire’s Blair Frank.

On the subject of apps (and football!) GeekWire’s Taylor Soper also has a fun roundup: These apps will help Seahawks fans break a world record for crowd noise on Sunday. (Go Hawks.)

Name that Tech Tune: Here’s the answer to last week’s Nokia challenge, and the winner of the tickets to Geektoberfest.
