It’s almost time for our first GeekWire event of 2013. We’re looking forward to seeing more than 250 of you tonight at the sold-out GeekWire Meetup, featuring a conversation with Tableau CEO Christian Chabot, great food and drink, plus a chance to connect with key members of the Seattle tech community in GeekWire style.

The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. this evening at the Hub Seattle in Pioneer Square, 220 2nd Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104.  See this page on the Hub Seattle site for directions and parking. Doors open at 5:30, and the program begins at 6:15 p.m. Food and drinks will be served throughout the night. The hash tag if you’re tweeting is #gwmeetup.

Thanks to our meetup sponsors, Outlook.com, Seattle Children’s Research InstituteMicrosoft User Research and Bing for helping to make this event possible.

If you haven’t purchased your ticket, we are literally at capacity, but don’t worry, we have plenty of great meetups and events coming up throughout the year. As a reminder for the future, our growing legions of GeekWire members — Startup, Gold and Super Pass holders — get automatic admission to every event included in their membership plans. We’re still accepting member signups, so that’s a good way to guarantee your seat at future meetups or events.

GeekWire Members, we have some surprises in store for you at the meetup tonight. One word of advice: Be sure to have a QR code reader at the ready on your phone. That’s the only hint we’ll give you for now.

One final event note: Our next event after this is the big GeekWire Ping-Pong & Anniversary Bash, March 6 at the Showbox SoDo. Tickets are available now for the tournaments and the party, and early bird rates end this Friday.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight!
