Phew, this city just doesn’t quit when it comes to inspiring events. There’s quite a few coming up in the next few weeks, I picked the most notable ones as well as some just plain fun events because it’s important to have balance. — Startup Weekend Seattle: This event is sold out, but apparently there’s still a waiting list. This weekend and next weekend’s Startup events are part of the Global Startup Battle, so there is some serious startup street cred on the line here.
When: All weekend, starting Friday, November 15th. 6 pm. — Seattle
— Seattle Tech Meetup: These are a lot of fun and if you haven’t dropped in on one, you really should. There’s a nice, laid back attitude and people are very supportive. It’s a great networking opportunity as well as a good chance to hear info on some of the areas tech companies. See what your neighbors are working on!
When: Tuesday, November 19th. 6 pm. Seattle.
— GeekGirlCon Presents Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: This has got to be the ultimate geeky event. GeekGirlCon is pairing up with Central Cinema to play this nerd favorite. Should be lots of fun! Dress up as your favorite Scott Pilgrim character and drink a beer at the movies with your pals!
When: Wednesday, November 20th. 7 pm. Seattle.
— Ignite Seattle: With a motto like: “enlighten us, but make it quick”, you know you’re going to be entertained. Watch what happens when presenters are challenged to make their point in only 5 minutes. Topics vary greatly, so you never know what you’ll see. Check it out!
When: Wednesday, November 20th. 6:30 pm. Seattle.
— WTIA – Are you Game? Video Games Through the Years: Looking for an excuse to play Duck Hunt? Who needs one!? Just come to this event and you can play all the games you like, old and new, no excuses needed. Although there are prizes for the evening’s best gamers.
When: Thursday, November 21st. 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Bellevue.
