WOWEE! I know I’ve said this before, but there is A LOT going on this weekend and some exciting things coming up next week. These are just the highlights, be sure to check the GeekWire calendar frequently for what’s happening in “geek world” and beyond!

Summer Meltdown: Darrington: Thursday, August 8th – Sunday, August 11th All day. This sounds like an amazing festival, a little bit lesser known in an even lesser known location (Whitehorse Mountain Amphitheater). If you’re looking for something different this weekend, this is it.

2013_SLU_BlockPartySouth Lake Union Block Party: Friday, August 9th All day. Fun fun! Looks like there’s all kinds of great things happening around South Lake Union on Friday. Food, drink, fun for kids!

SAM Remix: Friday, August 9th 8pm. Live music, DJs, dancing, art, film! This is going to be great summer party where there will definitely be something to keep you interested at all times.

Seattle Street Food Festival: Saturday, August 10th 5pm – 11pm. Yum! You’ll definitely want to skip lunch and maybe even breakfast on Saturday in preparation for this street food extravaganza! Visit your favorite truck and discover new ones.

cat-2012-top (1)Seattle Humane Society’s 8th Annual Catapalooza: Bellevue: Saturday, August 10th – Sunday, August 11th. All day. You guys, HUNDREDS OF ADOPTABLE CATS! As if that’s not reason enough to go, how about this: JACKSON GALAXY, CAT DADDY will be there!

PayPal’s Battle Hack Hackathon Series: Seattle: Saturday, August 10th – Sunday, August 11th All day. Calling all hackers! This one’s big, city finalists will be flown to PayPal HQ to compete in the world finals in November! Exciting!
