gateszuckbezosWhether you’re interested in their tech empires, computer-savvy minds, or dashing looks, it would be hard to pass up a date with Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg. So here’s the question: If you were given the choice of spending time with only one of these tech titans, which one would you pick?

Sure, they’re married. But it’s a fun hypothetical question to ask. And this is a perfect assignment to round out my GeekWire summer internship.

In this installment of our popular “Geek on the Street” feature, GeekWire took to the streets, sidewalks and coffee shops of downtown Seattle to find out which of these tech superstars is most date-able. We asked a wide range of people, under the theory that the “date” could be for any purpose that they want … business or pleasure.

Would you rather go on a date with Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, or Mark Zuckerberg?

Sarah Jones, Texas: “Hmmm, Bill Gates. Because he’s intelligent… I don’t really know the other guys.”

Graham Clark

Graham Clark, Seattle: “Jeff Bezos to be honest. I don’t know, I mean Facebook’s got a lot of profiling and a lot of media attention. Amazon seems a little more under wraps as far as their operations go. So I think it would be interesting to talk to him about their business model. And, besides that, I guess you hear a lot about Bill Gates around here, the Gates Foundation, and it’s just not as fresh. Amazon is really up-and-coming compared to Microsoft.”

Jennifer Smith

Jennifer Smith, Seattle: Honestly I don’t know who they are.

GeekWire: None of ’em?

Jennifer Smith: Haha, no.

GeekWire: So Mark Zuckerberg is the creator of Facebook, Bill Gates is everything Microsoft, and Jeff Bezos is Amazon.

Jennifer Smith: Microsoft, the guy from Microsoft.

Kim Merrikin

Kim Merrikin, Seattle: That is a pretty interesting question. I think I’m going to go with Bill Gates. He seems a little bit nerdy, without the autistic side of Zuckerberg.

Kristen Smythe, L.A., Ha! I’m married, maybe I shouldn’t be answering this. Bill Gates. I Just think because of his age he would have more worldly experience to share. I don’t think I would ask him about technology at all, I would ask him about who he’s met, where he has traveled, what commonalities were between all the people, and what affects humans. I wouldn’t ask him about business. I’m sure he’s seen other amazing people and things in his life.
