Ebay user madibubbles’ Xbox One.

If you want to get your hands on the Xbox One before anyone else, you’ll have to pay some extra dough to a guy who received his console two weeks before the official Nov. 22 launch date.

Ebay user “madibubbles,” who goes by Connor John Cosgrove on Twitter, was one of three known people who received the console early due to a Target “systems issue.” One of those gamers reached an agreement with Microsoft. Another person posted their console to eBay for $10,000 before pulling the aution.

But Cosgrove is pressing ahead — putting up his Xbox One on Ebay with a starting bid of $1,500 and a Buy It Now price of $3,000. Here’s the item description:

First, my twitter handle is @connorJcosgrove. I’ve never sold anything on eBay so I feel like this is a good time to start! I bought this as a gift to myself for an extremely big milestone in my life. It just happened to show up early and now it seems that others have more use for it than I do. If you would like to bid, please do, if not, no worries. Either way, someone is getting an Xbox One before it comes out and I feel like that is a pretty cool deal. From what I have been told and seen on the various tech blogs, it is functional as the day one patch is up already. You make the call and I will send it your way. If you forgot to pre order then this is your chance to tell people about the time you didn’t pre order and still got it first ;)

I put this starting bid based on what people have offered me on twitter

Merry Xboxing

He tweeted earlier that he had spoken with Microsoft, saying that the company told him to do what he wants with the Xbox One.

Microsoft sent us this statement about the early-arriving consoles:

Due to a retail partner’s system issue, a very small number of Xbox One consoles were shipped to consumers before the November 22 street date. We’re pleased to see the initial response to Xbox One has been so positive, but given we are still putting the finishing touches on our games, UI and online services, as well as confidential partner and media agreements, these console units will be restricted from connecting to Xbox Live until closer to our launch date.

Update, Nov. 11 at 10 p.m.: Someone bought the console for $2,000 on Ebay.
