Twitter today opened the doors to its robust tool that lets anyone from big brands to basement bloggers monitor tweet performance — all for free.

There is a bunch of detailed information now available. The Timeline Activity panel shows you how many favorites, retweets and replies each of your tweets has, as well as the ability to see exactly how many clicks each post received. Twitter lets you sort by your “best” and “good” tweets to see which of them got the most traction. All this information is neatly presented in graph form, or you can even download a CSV file if you prefer the data that way.

The Followers view offers a graph mapping out your follower growth and also groups followers into location, interest and gender demographics.

All of this is really interesting to look at and can be really valuable, especially for those accounts wanting to which tweets perform better than others.
