eduongo1No longer do you have to attend a school to gain knowledge and sharpen your skill set, as online learning has opened up a world of new opportunities for how we are educated.

One company making moves in this space is Bellevue-based EDUonGo, which today announced that it has raised $530,000 from Circulus Education, an Australian-based education and angel investor company.

EDUonGo enables anyone to launch what’s essentially an online school based in the cloud. Instructors can set up courses, give quizzes and assignments, grade students and allow for easy collaboration with a built-in social network.

The company has more than 6,000 users, which include everyone from individuals to those at institutions. Clintondale High School, a Detroit “flipped school” where students watch lectures at home and do homework in class, uses the EDUonGo platform, for example.

EDUonGo makes money via three pricing models: revenue sharing, monthly subscriptions or school/organization-based fees. The startup was co-founded last year by CEO Ridvan Aliu, COO Steven Yee and CFO Nick Scott.
