Employees at Amazon.com usually are way too busy during the holiday rush to participate in a traditional company party. So, they tend to let their hair down after things mellow out in mid-January.

And that’s what is happening tonight as the company hosts its “holiday party” at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The company didn’t respond when asked about the big bash. But we’re hearing it is quite the swanky affair. And, for a company that’s making a big push into the music business, who do they have on tap to perform?

We heard they chose the Las Vegas-based 4-piece rock band Imagine Dragons — which garners a 4.6 star rating on Amazon.com.

Meh. Typical crappy big company party w/ a second tier “hot” band. Amazon’s frugality shines again.

It was a pretty awesome show, John.

If you’re signed by Interscope, are you still and indie band?

Good point. I’ve changed the headline. Thanks for the comment.

I wasn’t there, but from my FB stream looks like it was a pretty awesome party!

Was told by someone who attended that the party sucked. They actually charged $5 for a bottle of water if you had used your two allotted drink coupons. Another remark: Who ever heard of a Holiday party with no desert?
