downbang1Let the banging continue.

Bang With Friends, an app that lets you find Facebook friends who are equally interested in having sexual relations, has returned to Apple’s App Store under a new moniker: “Down.”

This comes after Apple removed the app from its store three months ago because of clause 16.1, which does not allow for apps with ”excessively objectionable or crude content.”

Now, however, iOS users can bang all they want with Down, which is essentially an identical app to BWF but with less provocative language and an “updated concept” — though the premise largely remains the same.

In Bang With Friends for Android and the web — which are unchanged — users are given photos of Facebook buddies with a “Down to Bang” button attached to each one (The Android version offers a “Up To Hang” button for the cautionary folk). You simply make your picks, and if they happen to pick you, too, you’ll both receive a notification.

From there, it’s up to the users to figure out what’s next. The app essentially gets rid of awkward dates, conversations and the like, matching those who just want to get under the covers ASAP.

There are slight changes with “Down.” As you cycle through your Facebook friends, you’re given two options now: “Up to Hang,” or “I’m Down,” and the latter choice being a G-rated replacement for “Down To Bang,” we assume.

Founders Colin Hodge and Omri Mor, a University of Washington graduate who grew up in Seattle and spoke at the the launch of StartupSeattle, dealt with another problem late last month when Zynga filed a trademark suit over the “With Friends,” moniker.

Even though the app is now called “Down” in the App Store, the “Bang With Friends” name still exists on Android and the web. And in Apple’s App Store, “Down” is still developed by “Bang With Friends LLC,” so it looks like the company still has rights to its name.
