Less than a year ago, China became the fastest growing Android and iOS market. Not only is its market growing at an incredible rate, but China now is on pace to surpass America as the world’s largest Android and iOS market.

That’s according to mobile analytics firm Flurry, a company that tracks 2.4 billion app sessions per day. By the end of this month, China is set to trump the U.S. with 246 million active Android and iOS devices compared to 230 million for the U.S.

In January, China had 221 million active smart devices compared to a comparable 222 million for America. Flurry says that China will maintain this lead.

“We also conclude that the U.S. will not take back the lead from China, given the vast difference in population per country,” writes Peter Farago.

Flurry measures more than 90 percent of the world’s smart devices and aggregates data from more than 275,000 applications around the world every day.
