imdbmovieticketsMovie database resource giant IMDb, launched in 1990 and acquired by Amazon in 1998, just updated its mobile apps to allow users to purchase movie tickets directly from the app itself.

Movie-goers in the U.S. can simply pick a theater and time using the IMDb app and ticket purchases are then processed through Fandango.

IMDb also updated the app with more celebrity bios and added integration with the Amazon Mobile app for those wanting to buy movies that they come across on IMDb.
