We’re hurtling towards the end of 2013, which means it’s time to start all the talk about what the past year held.

Facebook just released its second annual year in review video, complete with Grumpy Cat, smiling babies, a reference to the rise and fall of the Harlem Shake, as well as mentions of the Boston Marathon bombing, and Typhoon Haiyan.

In addition, the company has also created a tool to give users a glimpse at their top stories of 2013 in timeline form, as well as those of their friends. In my own experience, the tool is good at tracking major life events, but not great. Still, it only takes one click to take a quick trip down memory lane.

If you don’t want your Aunt Berta to see all the photos from the crazy house party that you had, don’t worry: Facebook says that all of the content aggregated in year in review pages follows the privacy settings set by each user.

To see your own Facebook-generated Year in Review, go to facebook.com/yearinreview. To see what your friends were up to this year, click here.
