I’ll admit it — I was initially drawn to this game (no pun intended) by the name. What in the heck is this? I thought when I saw “Draw a Stickman EPIC’ in the Windows Store on my Microsoft Surface.

The answer: It’s a fun and creative adventure game that lets you solve challenges with artistic flair — scribbling out some fire or an axe on the screen, for example, to burn or chop down obstacles in your way. Your character is your very own stickman, which you create at the beginning.

I also like the fact that it’s available for Windows 8, and I’m looking forward to trying it on the Surface Pro, to see how it works with the new Microsoft tablet’s included pen. However, the game is also available for iPad, iPhone and Android devices, including Kindle Fire.

It”s available in free and paid versions, going for $1.99 on iOS and Android and $2.99 on Windows 8. Sorry Windows Phone users, not available for you yet.

The game is part of a series from Kentucky-based Hitcents. Here’s an interesting background piece with more on how the game was made.
