Many of us know from first-hand experience that urban parking can be an expensive ordeal, especially during the busy summer months. Fortunately, this week’s App of the Week will make trips in the city a little easier.
True to its name, BestParking can help you find the best parking in more than 100 cities and airports around the country. Just select a location, plug in arrival and departure times, and this app will show you the least expensive parking in your area.
For those of us who forget to plan ahead, BestParking can also provide assistance on the road. Using GPS navigation, along with an extensive parking search engine, it will spotlight all the nearby parking and shows the hourly rate of each option. BestParking.com confidently boasts “the most accurate data of any parking application,” and even promises a $5 Starbucks eGift to any customer who can report inaccurate search results.
BestParking is available for free on your iOS device, Android, or Blackberry. You can also find it on the web. Premium features — including real-time location tracking and entrance photos to help you spot the garage you’re trying to find — go for $2.99 as an in-app purchase.
App of the Week is a regular feature of the GeekWire radio show and podcast, airing at 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturdays on KIRO Radio in Seattle (97.3 FM), except when preempted by live sports. The show runs every weekend on GeekWire.com. You can get every episode using this RSS feed, subscribe in iTunes or find us on Stitcher.
