amazonstudios12amznstudiosMore than four months after announcing original comedy TV content, Amazon’s TV production leg now wants you to watch pilot episodes created by Amazon Studios and pick your favorite ones.

Eight comedy and six children’s pilots are now available to watch on Amazon. Once the Seattle online giant analyzes feedback via comments, ratings and other reviews, they’ll decide which of the 14 will be produced for full seasons that will be available to watch exclusively on Amazon Prime Instant Video and Lovefilm UK.

Personally, I’m excited to see what ‘Betas,’ a show about Silicon Valley geeks, is all about. Zombieland is intriguing, too.

This is all part of Amazon’s push into the video distribution arena, taking on the likes of Hulu and Netflix, who have been offering their own exclusive content. Television is a new step for the Amazon Studios initiative, which has focused on feature films up to this point, using a public development process that enlists aspiring screenwriters, artists and filmmakers to compete for prizes.

Amazon Studios launched in November 2010 and more than 12,000 movie scripts and 2,000 series pilot scripts have been submitted.
