add3amplifySeattle search engine marketing firm Add3 today announced the acquisition of Amplify Interactive, a Portland-based search marketing agency.

The five-person cohort at Amplify, which was founded in 2003, will remain in the Rose City and operate as Add3’s new Portland team. Amplify founder and president Ben Lloyd is now Add3 Principal and will continue to lead his employees in Portland.

The acquisition brings Add3’s total headcount up to 30. The company, which specializes in search engine marketing, search engine optimization and online display advertising, was recently named to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing privately-held companies. It plans to continue hiring at both locations.

Add3 is profitable and on track to top $10 million in revenue this year. CEO and co-founder Paul Uhlir wrote an insightful piece on GeekWire earlier this year about how his bootstrapped company went from zero to $10 million.
