Can’t get enough of big data? A new contest created by YarcData — a unit of Seattle supercomputer maker Cray Inc. — will give away $100,000 in prize money to those developers and software engineers who are best utilizing graph analytics in the areas of life sciences, healthcare, financial services, scientific research and government.
“Many critical Big Data problems are based on un-partitionable graphs and we hope this contest will encourage programmers to explore innovative solutions in the world of graph analytics. We believe RDF/SPARQL will be to graph analytics what SQL is to relational databases,” said Arvind Parthasarathi, president of YarcData.
The YarcData Graph Analytics Challenge plans to award $70,000 to the first place finisher, and $10,000 to a second place finisher. Judges will be drawn from academia and experts in the semantic Web. Winners will be announced December 4th, with teams able to preregister here.
