We wrote yesterday about Nintendo selling more than 400,000 Wii U consoles last week. While it isn’t new and doesn’t have dual-screen capabilities, the Xbox 360 still sold nearly double that for the same time period.

Microsoft today reported that it sold more than 750,000 consoles in the U.S. alone for the Black Friday week of Nov. 18 – Nov. 23, which exceeding internal forecasts. That’s actually still lower than last year’s Black Friday week, when Microsoft sold 960,000 Xbox 360’s.

Other key stats:

  • Xbox Live Gold Subscription card sales increased more than 50 percent compared to last year’s Black Friday week.
  • More than 14 million people were on Xbox Live last Sunday and racked up more than 72 million hours of use in one day.
  • There was a 43 percent increase in U.S. entertainment application usage taking place on Xbox Live during Black Friday week.

We can probably expect the Xbox 360 to stay atop the U.S. console market after this month, which would mark 23 consecutive months as the top-selling console in the U.S.
