Even though RealNetworks exec Matt Hulett kept his pants on this year, he still managed to help raise money for Northwest Harvest.
After diving into the chilly waters of Lake Washington for charity and nearly losing his trunks last year, Hulett and his team bounced off each other as sumo wrestlers this December.
“Last year, I jumped into a shockingly cold Lake Washington and had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction,” says Hulett. “This year was much better since it was great to have our entire team involved, not only in the wrestling, but in the festivities as well.”
There’s just something hilarious about watching people put on sumo-suits and duke it out in the ring. Hulett, who runs the company’s GameHouse unit, helped his team raise a combined total of $58,000 for Northwest Harvest, providing over 263,000 meals for those in need.
“I fought four opponents – it was incredibly hot,” says Hulett. “The suits weight close to 75 pounds in addition to a huge helmet. 30 minutes in that suit felt like I had run a marathon.”
Still, an incredibly hot sumo suit seems a little better than losing your shorts in Lake Washington. Unfortunately, it looks like the video of last year’s wardrobe malfunction was taken down. Dang!
