OK, so Windows 8 is out, but what about the apps? Microsoft exec Steve Guggenheimer is on stage right now (above) at the company’s Build conference in Redmond, showing and previewing some of the third-party apps in the works and headed to the Windows Store.
Those include much-needed Windows 8 apps from Twitter and Dropbox, among others, according to a blog post by Guggenheimer with advance highlights from his talk. The post says, “Dropbox’s new Windows Store app, coming soon, offers a cloud based storage and synchronization service for photos, documents and videos on Windows 8.”
ESPN is also showing its new app for Windows 8, with an ESPN exec saying on stage, “I actually believe we can host an NBA expansion team in this tent,” on the off chance that Ballmer needs one.
Here’s the Twitter announcement.
#Windows8 needs a great Twitter app. So we’re building it. Looking forward to sharing it with you in the months ahead.
