Treemo Labs has developed some high-quality custom iPhone and iPad apps for the likes of 60 Minutes, Beyonce and Nirvana. Now, the Seattle company is looking to build on those experiences with a new publishing tool by the name of Appafolio that helps people create apps on their own with little to no coding skill.

We’ve seen the rise of other startup companies, including Red Foundry and Buddy Platform, which also offer easy-to-use app creation services. And while Treemo CEO Brent Brookler admits that there are a number of competitors already on the market, he said that Treemo’s approach is unique.

“We focused on making it the easiest to use that produces the highest quality apps and solved 80 percent of users needs with a portfolio/content app system,” he said. “Instead of overwhelming potential users with building out navigation and various unneeded features, we built a side-scrolling user interface where the user can choose from six different screens, arrange them anyway they want.”

Users of Appafolio, which is free to download, can customize backgrounds, loading screens, icons and then upload photos, videos, about page with email, map, phone and web links. Premium features such like multiple apps in one account, additional storage, more screen types also are in the works.
