Whoa, what a month. Was it us, or did the technology industry simply explode with activity in October? Every day it seemed as if there was another groundbreaking announcement.
The tablet wars heated up as Microsoft introduced its Surface, and Apple rolled out the iPad Mini to mixed reviews and mockery from Amazon.
On the startup front, Mark Long’s newly-formed game company Meteor Entertainment scored $18 million, while venture capital stalwart OVP Venture announced plans to ride into the sunset. We also profiled a new crop of TechStars startups.
We had some fun along the way too, like when we asked Xbox-jersey-wearing Seattle Sounders fans about their favorite gaming consoles or watched a conga line break out to Jonathan Sposato’s wonderful rendition of “Copacabana” at the GeekWire Meetup.
No wonder it was the biggest traffic month on record at GeekWire.
Can we catch our breath now? Probably not. But that’s OK. We love telling stories of the growing geek community.
