Seattle-based Zipwhip — the people who brought you cloud texting on your desktop using your mobile number — today announced that their Zipwhip texting app is available for Android Tablets.

Once you download the app, you can tap on the “Z” icon and start texting. Zipwhip on Android lists the history of your text conversations, lets you compose and send texts, and receives messages even if you’re not in the app, with unread texts at the top of the list, so that you can “never miss a message.”

In case you have forgotten, the folks at Zipwhip were behind the Textspresso machine, offering its speedy caffeinating powers with one text. No word on whether or not Katie Couric has received one or not yet.
