Venture capitalist Randall Lucas has stepped down from his position at Lighter Capital, the Seattle investment firm formerly known as Revenue Loan. Lucas previously worked at Voyager Capital, a Seattle venture capital firm that is among the backers of Lighter Capital.
Lucas, who joined Lighter Capital in June 2010, plans to spend more time with his wife and newly-born son. Lucas tells GeekWire that Lighter Capital remains busy at work “pioneering the model of revenue-based finance.” He plans to continue with some limited consulting for the firm, with plans to return to the Seattle startup/venture capital community in the coming months.
Zooppa, a Seattle advertising company, said it has hired Sallie Miles as chief financial officer. Miles previously worked as chief accounting officer and controller for HA: Real Estate Investments, and before that worked in various capacities for Onecast Media, ZoneNetwork and Getty Images.
Ant’s Eye View, a Seattle social media consulting firm, has named Len Devanna as vice president. Devanna previously worked in marketing at EMC Corp. where he worked on online strategy, engagement marketing and social brand management. Devanna will work out of the company’s growing Silicon Valley office, and follows a number of new hires at the firm.
“As clients have turned to Ant’s Eye View to help navigate the increasingly complex world of social business, we’ve accelerated our hiring and have fielded a group of seasoned, experienced team members who have led innovation in the social business space,” said Sean O’Driscoll, chief executive of Ant’s Eye View.
Other recent hires include Brian Hsi who previously worked for Classmates.com, Microsoft’s MSDN and TechNet; Kristal Ferchau, a former director of integrated marketing at Juniper Networks; Anthony Garcia, a former senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton; and Cathryn Rowe, a designer who previously worked at The Sam Noble Museum.
Robert Wahbe plans to step down from his post as director of marketing of the Server and Tools division at Microsoft after 16 years at the company, reports Mary Jo Foley.
Dr. Paul Gray plans to retire from the board of Data I/O Corporation, a provider of manual and automated device programming systems. Gray has served on the board since 1998 and served as chairman for 12 years. He will be replaced on as chairman by Doug Brown, the president and CEO Seattle’s All Star Directories.
Bill Furlong, the former CEO of Escapia, has been named vice president of HomeAway Software for Professionals. In the new role, Furlong will oversee the Austin, Texas company’s enterprise software group. He will move from Seattle to Austin as part of the appointment. HomeAway purchased Seattle’s Escapia — a maker of software for the online vacation rental market — in 2010.
