ReadyPulse — a social media firm founded by former Microsoft and Amazon employees Srinivas Penumaka, T Vinod Gupta and Mihir Vaidya — has scored a new round of cash and named Dennis O’Malley as CEO. The funding was led by Moxie Software, with ReadyPulse moving to the company’s Bellevue office. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

O’Malley previously led Moxie’s Global Services and Insight division, and before that served as vice president of sales at Gartner.

“Brands struggle to identify, nurture, and convert advocates and connect them to the buying process,” said O’Malley in a release. “Moxie understands the challenges enterprises face in getting closer to their customers. Their support has been invaluable in the development of our comprehensive brand advocacy platform, and Moxie’s experience and advice will help drive our growth.”

ReadyPulse was profiled last month on GeekWire as part of our Startup Spotlight feature.

As I pointed out in that story, there’s no shortage of folks developing tools to help companies make sense out of social networking chatter. Players in the Seattle area include Prosodic, Simply Measured, Visible Technologies and Banyan Branch. Yesterday, we reported on the new financing round for Venuelabs, which landed $1.6 million to help retailers measure and analyze social media chatter around individual storefronts.
