Ant’s Eye View, a three-year-old social media agency with operations in Seattle, Austin and Silicon Valley, has agreed to be acquired by PricewaterhouseCooper’s advisory business. The company’s 32 employees will join PwC, with the deal expected to close in September.

“We were lucky (or good) by entrepreneurial standards in that we had many suitors interested in Ant’s Eye View,” writes Sean O’Driscoll in a blog post. “The question for us became — which opportunity created the greatest synergy for our team, our clients and our ambition. We wanted a platform that believed what we did about the marketplace and our mission. And, most importantly, we wanted the opportunity to establish and drive our vision at scale within a world class organization.”

PwC is that organization, according to O’Driscoll, a former Microsoftie who co-founded the company and serves as CEO.

“The team at Ant’s Eye View are seasoned social media practitioners with experience at large organizations across multiple industries,” said Joe Duffy, PwC partner and leader of the firm’s U.S. Consulting practice, in a statement. “They understand how to transform companies into ‘social enterprises’ that are truly engaged with customers as well as employees while delivering on the brand promise. Adding this powerful team to PwC’s Advisory business strengthens our ability to serve our clients from strategy through execution, and to help them apply the best uses of social media to support their customer engagement and brand management strategies.”

Customers of Ant’s Eye View include Cisco, P&G, Jack-in-the-Box, Wells Fargo, Starbucks, AT&T and Nordstrom.

We’ve seen a lot of activity in the social media arena in recent months, including Banyan Branch picking up Nology Media and Visible Technologies raising cash. Last fall, Spring Creek Group, a five-year-old social media agency, was acquired by Interpublic Group’s Mediabrands unit for an undisclosed price.
