Seattle startup Simply Measured today announced that it has won a key piece of business from rival Radian6, taking over the social media analytics for iconic media brand Playboy and its social media agency Social House.

“We’re excited to work with such a large and successful media outlet, and we’re excited about the deeper insights and in depth analytics that we’ll be able to bring to their business,” said Simply Measured CEO Adam Schoenfeld in a blog post. “Playboy is using Simply Measured to holistically track, monitor and measure the growth and performance of its social media presence, including the success of popular campaigns such as the weekly #FriskyFriday.”

Simply Measured has developed tools to help brands collect data on a host of social media channels, analyzing keywords and presenting the data in easily digestible formats. Playboy has developed quite a following on social media, with more than eight million fans across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+.

Radian6 remains a bigger competitor, since it was acquired last year for $326 million by Salesforce.com.

It’s not quite Hugh Heffner’s mansion, but we got a tour of Simply Measured’s ultra hip Capitol Hill office space earlier this year.

Editor’s note: Simply Measured executives Aviel Ginzburg and Adam Schoenfeld will be featured speakers this Saturday at GeekWire’s Startup Day
