AdHost, one of Seattle’s better known data center operators, has been acquired in a deal of undisclosed size by TierPoint Seattle Holdings, a subsidiary of Cequel Data Centers. Cequel operates about 100,000 square feet of data center space through Colo4, Perimeter Technology and TierPoint.

“We believe this will be a great next step for our customers and our team as TierPoint shares our vision for the future and our commitment to customer relationships.  The Adhost staff is making the transition as well, so it should be a seamless transition for our customers,” said AdHost general manager Will Riffle.

AdHost is a tenant at Fisher Plaza, a major data center near Seattle’s Space Needle. It operates about 10,000 square feet of space at the facility, and has plans to triple its footprint in the city. It will be rebranded as TierPoint, a brand that Cequel acquired earlier this year.

“This latest acquisition further enhances our geographic diversity and fits perfectly with our strategy to position ourselves to respond to the growing demand for colocation and cloud computing services,” said Paul Estes, the CEO of Cequel Data Centers. “The experienced Adhost team now becomes a part of our bigger team. With their proven track record and reputation, we plan to continue to grow this business and expand our facility in Seattle.”
