There was no shortage of news on the technology beat during the month of January, one of the reasons that GeekWire’s traffic soared to record heights. And it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down anytime soon, with President Barack Obama touting the importance of innovation in his State of the Union Address; Facebook filing for an initial public offering and Amazon.com continuing to invest in new businesses.

But before we peer too far ahead, here’s a look back at the past month. It was actually the passing of two remarkable individuals — one a household name in Steve Jobs, and the other a rising star in Arfa Karim Randhawa — which captivated readers.

In case you missed our coverage, here’s a look at the top 10 stories on GeekWire for January. Thanks again to everyone for reading, commenting and Tweeting. We couldn’t do this without you!
