[Follow-up: Departing RealNetworks legal chief gets to keep $200k bonus for Intel patent work]
Tracy Daw, a 12-year veteran of RealNetworks and the chief legal officer at the Seattle digital media company since 2010, “has stepped down to pursue another career opportunity,” according to a regulatory filing this afternoon.
It’s the latest in a series of management changes at RealNetworks, whose CEO Thomas Nielsen joined the Seattle company in November.
The company recently completed the sale of a big trove of patents to Intel for $120 million, and Nielsen has said he’s looking to make more big moves in a bid to bring the company back to the growth it experienced in its heyday.
RealNetworks says it has engaged an executive search firm to help find a replacement for Daw as chief legal officer. No word yet on the nature of his other career opportunity, but we’ll update this post if we find out more details.
